Gang,

Does anyone here either work in or with the World Affairs Council in Philadelphia? Or perhaps you know someone who does?

Please PM me if you do. I am trying to get a job in their "Speaker events" department or the "Travel events" department, but frankly the entire organization is very exciting and it would be my dream come true to work as a PR or event planner in ANY of their departments.

The problem is that they do not announce their open positions to the public and do not have a centralized human resources department that you can call and ask. So basically, unless you are in the know with them, you are out.

I hope someone here can help me get closer to my goal.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks,
eve

I looked at their website and see that they have various activities coming up....lectures, training stuff with students.

Suggestion: Call them and volunteer to help with one of their events (welcome desk, stting up the room, prep work for speaker, etc). Most non-profits never have enough paid help to do everything. Volunteering would give you a chance to get to KNOW some of the staff....maybe board, too. Once you're known to them, then it's easy to express interest in future job opps... Good luck....

PS- If you can get a list of their board of directors, then I might be able to find a route for an introduction. I did not find the board listed on the website

Thank you Jerry

You know Naccaratto as well? Nice! We work with them here in my office at Drexel (Planning, Design & Construction), but i didn't want to ask my boss to talk to him just yet b/c i have not told my boss that i am looking for somthing yet. What is it that you do actually? I don't think that i ever knew.

So, you want me to remind you later on, is that what you meant? No problem Just let me know when you get back from your vacation. Where are you going?
