I checked craigslist, but I'd rather buy from a fellow S2K'er than some random person.

I have a Dell Inspirion 600m sitting in my basement.

I just cleaned it out because I wanted to sell it. Its basically how it would be if you just opened the box and turned it on, you have to set it all up again. It has windows xp on it. Im not sure how the battery life is going to be, it may need a new battery, but if you wanna check it out you can. My friend was going to buy it for 300$ but he decided not to because he financed a new one instead.

Id let it go on here for 200$, I could use the cash and its just sitting around anyway.

I just Gave ( not sure why) my bro my 2 year old dell. I just bought a new battery for it for $60.00. It was an XPS M140 model. I would have sold it for about $250.00 with the new battery but I decided to be a nice guy

Tom I have an old Gateway laptop. It works great, but I'm not sure if it would be suitable for your purposes...

It's a Pentium mobile with MMX with I think 16MB of RAM. It runs Windows 98 or you could run a lite LINUX disto on it. But it's not going to run any real 32-bit Windows effectively. It's too slow. The battery still works but is only good for about 15 min of runtime. It's not going to be good if you want to use it untethered or in a car for extended periods. But it's great for web surfing and checking email.
