Default WTB Hood Insulation

I'm looking to buy the insulation that goes under the hood. Mine get wrecked up when some jacka$$ didn't screw my oil cap down which then proceeded to fall out into the engine bay resulting in oil getting all over everything and soaking into this piece. Needless to say I'm pissed at myself for being lazy and not doing it myself and more pissed that some idiot I payed doesn't know how to tighten a cap.

So, does anyone have one that they don't need anymore?

Generally not needed, IIRC it's mostly a fire-retardant. Most racers take it off as far as I know.

And if I'm not a racer and this is my DD? Still necessary then?

No, of course not. In theory, a fire will melt the plastic clips holding the fiber to the hood, the fiber drops and smothers the fire.

In theory.

My guesses are fire and noise are why it is on the car.

I have one if you want to put one back on. Let me know.

John

PS Mike, how could fire always win if water always wins? Doesn't water put out fire and that would mean fire looses?
