The reviewer was absolutely correct in that this movie was not intended to entertain the audience, but an attempt to show viewers what transpired in most graphic detail. It did not only want you to just see it, but feel it as well - so that we can better understand what Jesus had sacrificed for us.

This a powerful film like no others that came before it. I heard people around me wept uncontrollably over several scenes. At the end of the movie, most people remain seated with an unmistakable grieve expression on their faces, as if asking: What have we done?

It was one of the best and worst movies all in one. The beginning was very slow and hard to get into and I could do without subtitling the entire movie. I felt like I was watching someone turn the pages on a book. But after 1/2 hour to 45 minutes it pulls you in and moves you deeply. It reminded me how human nature can be so good and kind at times (Jesus) and on the flipside how it can be so evil and cruel (almost everybody else) It showed how the world really is , whether you are religious or not. Even Jesus' family and friends denied him. Just goes to show you that you can at times only count on yourself.

well I liked it
and to keep this short, seeing what jesus went through opened my eyes.
...I did not cry at all during the movie nor did i get teary eyed although I did feel a some what sympathetic, my sister was telling me how I am really weird for not even shedding one tear i dunno if i'm weird now ?

I had to ask around for the significance of symbols in the film, but I seem to have an understanding now.
