Its a modern sci-fi remake of the 1990 movie "dances with wolves".
I thought it was a remake of Fern Gully. Only, way more badass!

Blu-ray new generation 3D (from 2010 Consumer Electronics Show) will be a new benchmark home theatre entertainment showcase.

i was left disappointed for such a hyped movie. it was okay... story plot seems all too familiar.
Reminded me of watching a old western with the United States Army pushing the Indians off their land so the settlers can have it...and there will be a part 2 to this movie, we as humans never take no for a answer and will be back with triple of the amount of troops.

Finally saw it, thought it was great.

Yes the plot is borrowed from just about a dozen movies made before it. Its got some Ewoks, and Braveheart, and Last Samurai (or Pocahontas). But I did think it was done very well and the eco nut political message was fine with me so I did not eye roll at it.

But Cameron manages to do something that Lucas could not, and that was make this fake computer generated world feel real. Part of it starts with better effects from a few years of technological advancement, part of it comes from better dialogue, and another part better direction and acting.

There were many part of the story where I forgot the things on screen were all drawn by a computer because it was more real and I was lost in the story. Something I never felt with Jar Jar or clonetroopers. They always were phoney and distracting.

Just shows that George should come up with the idea and let someone else run with it. A director he aint.

I thought Avatar was great, but its not a movie I would see over and over (although I will pick up a blu ray someday) because its really long, and you have seen the same plot a dozen times before.
