If anyone has read Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns you would see a resemblance between the movie Batmobile and the one in the novel.
Your post regarding Frank Miller brought back instant memories back to when I was a kid and collected comics, especially anything associated w/F M!I distinctly remember it was 4 or 5 issues for the Dark Night Returns. The series had multiple printings,I had 1st printings of each book.Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Dark Knight have the epic battle against Superman?Anyway,it was the best short series done on that character with all the Air brushing,Batman looking older, weathered,Buffed, and bitter in my opinion.Look forward to the movie, good pictures and post regarding the upcoming release!

I actually have the a quicktime of that batmobile video. It is pretty cool. I'd be MORE than happy to share, but I don't know how to host it, so if anyone could give me advice, or an email so they can host it I'll get it to you.

I am looking forward to this movie... and Tim Burton's Batman versions were not campy!

Tim Burton directed the first couple of Batman movies (Batman, Batman Returns) which depicted Gotham City as a darker, rougher NYC while Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne was lot more mysterious, reclusive.

Then Joel Schumacher stepped in to direct the next two Batman movies (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin) and took the Batman series a different direction. Everything seemed a lot more Hollywood, glammed up, even Bruce Wayne seemed to relish the spotlight instead of keeping on the downlow.

IMO, I'm looking forward to the direction the Batman movies are moving toward, I enjoyed Michael Keaton as Batman, Val Kilmer and George Clooney were second rate at best.

Michael Keaton all the way!! The most recent 2 movies were horrible and made to be intentionally a joke I beleive. Which I found really disapponting as I grew up on the first two movies and LOVED the darker styling. Can't wait for this one!

Being a huge Batman fan, I must say that Joel Shitmaker....err Shumacher will forever be known as the man who almost ruined the Batman movie franchise. Everything about his Batman movies sucked so bad, it was sickening. Everything from the dialogue to the characters themselves were ridiculous....and don't even get me started on his Batsuits....(I mean, Batsuits with NIPPLES!!!! WTF?!?!)

I agree that the movies helmed by Tim Burton were excellent. The dark, gothic look was perfect for the Batman storyline.

Now that Chris Nolan has jumped aboard this "restart" film, I'm very hopeful. Plus I think they made a good decision to cast Christian Bale as the new Batman/Bruce Wayne. If any of you have watched Equilibrium or American Psycho, you know what I'm talking about. He's just badassed!!

Also, I'm glad Nolan flat out says that his film has absolutely no relation to the other Batman movies, other than the characters. Definetely a good idea....
