Battlestar Galactica
This isn't exactly a movie, but more an extended mini-series of sort. I normally am not a fan of sci-fi programs or movies, but I think this may be the best drama on T.V. right now and one of the best dramas ever produced. The allegories work on so many different levels, the war in Iraq and the war on terror in general, the role of belief in religious doctrine, the nature of group and individual responsibility, sin and redemption, and humanity's relationship to technology. I just finished several of Joseph Campbell's books in the last few months as well as the Golden Bough, and the mythic overtones are really quite well done: for instance, the 12 Cylons recall the 12 tribes of Isreal, the 12 Apostles, the 12 primary Gods of Olympus and the 12 Titans. Is there a pantheon of Gods or only one true God, represented in the here and now by Baltar, the one true God's intermediary, who offers himself up in sacrifice in the stead of an innocent child and miraculuosly lays his hand on the child and cures him of a life-threatening sickness? Or then again, maybe I am just full of it...but what does anyone else think?
I watch the show. But I wish they would kill off Space Jesus AKA Baltar.
I thought the show was best in the first season, when there was paranoia about the cylons being among them and its relevance to fear of sleeper cells among us. I think they made a big mistake when they revealed most of the cylon models so quickly and they went from sabatuer ghosts to arguing beaurocrats.
Now I just like it when the blow stuff up.

I tuned out for awhile, but am watching with interest again now that the cylons are at odds with themselves - it softens the ugliness of humanity that the writers seem so bent on inflating and destroying at the same time.

meh - Boomer FTW
The girl that plays the blonde is actually not a natural blonde. She was doing an interview on some random show and had dark brown hair and I thought she looked much better. But MN is blondie land. You kind of wear out on them.
