The Fifth and final cylon is..............

Tom Zarek

Starbuck is too obvious, and the Cylons themselves said that the 5th was not on Galactica. Tom Zarek was not aboard the Galactica when this statement was made. I have other reasons for my pick, but I think that he is the one that is least suspected at this point, and I think Richard Hatch would get a big kick out of having his character be the final Cylon.

Just my $.02

Yeah but that last penultimate episode was lousy. I realize its a drama, and revolves around the characters but hey, in a show that revolves around a war to wipe out humanity, how about a battle scene or something exciting once a season?

I tuned in hoping for a great setup to the final episode and got an hour of how Rosilin lost her family to a drunk driver and Space Jesus used to fight with his dad. Yawn.

The mutiny episodes were very compelling, but the last few have had nothing to write home about.

Incredible series. Season 1 nd season 2 were outstanding, season 3 sucked, but I thought the writers strike contributed to that.
Season 4 has been patchy but all up a very very good remake. Hopefully sci-fi in the future will take a leaf out of the BSG book.

just watched it on my DVR, they could've made it an hour shorter without all the flashbacks - it didn't do anything to the story line IMO...

but the premise was interesting...Lucy = Hera?

A lot of the themes seemed to pick up on themes from Campbell's Hero of a Thousand Faces.

I watched the mini series and the instant I heard it was turning into a full series I did backflips I was so happy. I've been completely addicted to BSG for the duration of its air time and I'm incredibly sad that its over.

I thought the last episode was phenominal with the way it tied off the loose ends and then brought things around to today/modern world. Yes, the humans i nthe modern world found the remains of Hera. The flashbacks were also necessary for understanding the characters and the real grit f the show lies with the characters and their relationships with one another (human to human, human to cylon, cylon to cylon). It really provided some great food for thought. Even though it was a "happy ending" in that the human race wasn't wiped off the planet, I found myself devastated by Laura's death to the point where the entire ending felt sad to me.

And don't knock Baltar, for pretty much 2 seasons he was the most intriguing character in the show. His role really lessened a bit with the religious/messenger of god status but none the less, his deception and depth was pivotal. I always found myself hating him, but the show would have been much different in a bad way without him.

I liked the Athena/Boomer/Helo relationship/subplot the most with Lee/Starbuck/Anders coming in at a close second. When Helo got shot in the last episode I got pissed because I thought he was going to die. I was happy when he was hobbling around with a cane at the end.

I met Tricia Helfer in person real quick a few years ago and she's absolutely gorgeous. She had dirty blonde hair when I saw her. I'd still go with Grace Park though. Rekha Sharma is quite a looker too. Pretty much the entire female cast was great

Part of the reason that BSG is such a good program is because the writers had a good sense of the mythic proportions of their story.

If you ever have the chance read Joseph Campbell's The Hero of A Thousand Faces, his trans-cultural myth analysis about the role of the hero in different cultures and the similarities in the different myths of the hero One archtype of the hero myth is that the hero, with his or her helper, can lead the tribe to the promised land even though the hero may die at the threshold of the promised land. Think of Moses and Aaron, and the similarity between Laura and Adama. Moses is the hero with the visions, the one who talks to god. Aaron is the helper who handles the practical day-to-day affairs for the hero throughout the hero's journey. In BSG, Laura is like the Moses figure who must therefore die. Adama is the one who effectuates the hero's journey. Just as in the Exodus, the community as a whole benefits from the hero's journey, reaching the mythical promised land of Canaan or Earth.

I could go on and on...but you get the point. BSG is a T.V. show which transends its medium to become a serious work of art.
