Big Lebowski
WTF? Someone please tell me why so many of you like this movie. I watched it with my wife, I watched it again by myself thinking she was distracting me with her constant "this movie sucks" commentary. I laughed exactly one time when Maude says she's doing those weird exercises to increase her chance of conception. I'd rate it as one of the worst movies ever made.

I dunno. I think its pure genius just for the writing alone. And I still laugh every time The Dude gets the ashes in the face.
But some people think There Will Be Blood was great and was so bored by it I could not wait for it to end.

EVERY person I know that has hated it did not know a career stoner in High School.
My school was littered with people with 130+ IQs doing 'shrooms. The Big Lebowski was a window into, "what ever happened to _____?"
The real Dude (yes, he's a real guy), is a force of nature. . .
If you were looking for the movie to mean something, then you were barking up the wrong tree from the get-go.

Totally different film styles too. I saw There Will Be Blood once, and LOVED it. I saw The Big Lebowski 6 times in the theater. . . and a few* times since.
Indeed, it's the writing.

The big Lebowski is my top 5 favorite movie of all time. The 1st time I watched it , i was like, wtf was all the hype about?. but you have to pay attention to all of the symbolism. Just pay....atention. I wont explain it. OK maybe just 1.... the Rug. Its just not a "RUG".
