I liked it very much. Based on a true story.

It has generally recieved excellent reviews and was called "an instant classic" by our local guy. I would not go that far but was very good.

Predictable story and typical boxing movie with a few new twists. It is really Chirstian Bale's movie and would not be surprised to see him get a supporting actor nod for his performance as the screw up older brother. Wahlberg's character does not say much, he lets everybody do the talking for him.

Amy Adam is also VERY good as the girlfriend and Wahlberg's family in the movie are some fairly funny charicatures of low class blue collar east coast women.

Lots of f bombs and boxing violence but nothing too bad by today's standards if you worry about that kind of thing. It is short of great but certainly one of the better movies in the past year.

I heard it was good. Marky Mark trained off and on for 6 years for this movie.
