Not sure if this was already covered. Sherriff Walt Longmire and his crew of Wyoming law enforcement are the center of this story. Six seasons long it now has run it's course and the characters are through with us...then again there can always be a series after the series.
Sheriff of a small town in the middle of nowhere near several Indian reservations makes for drama and cross cultural problems. Add to that the Irish mafia, corrupt Indian Casino workers, just bad people, drugs, money laundering, bank robbery, unexplained murders, Hector, the Indian revenge taker, Indian lore, several characters living below the radar, and a mysterious character or two. Robert Taylor stars as Walt, he is actually Australian I think, his crew, bad guys, townspeople, etc are all played by a host of character actors. I especially enjoyed his deputies and all the Indians. Lew. diamond Phillips is the co star and does well playing an Indian. bar owner, best friend, and avenger at times....there is some action, but it is not gratuitous and borders on the side of realism. "your gun has three bullets missing, Walt? Yeah, I can't remember how many I fired". Walt carries an old model `1911 and a Winchester 30 cal lever action, he also has a horse and a bronco which gets trashed now and then. He lives in an old wooden home on a ranch with a view to die for. I loved these characters and highly recommend the series, with 6 years it is easy to get bogged down in all the characters and relationships, but it never fails to entertain. Playing now on Netflix, it was rescued last year from cancellation and two more years were made....

I have to say I must be one of the few that find this show terribly corny and just a regurgitation of what a million other shows just like it are, with a double dose of soap opera. My wife got into it and every now and then I find it mildly entertaining, but most times find myself laughing out loud at it and finding something else to do. Very, very predictable and just not my thing I guess.
