Saw Fury Road last night...unfortunately in 3D, but that does not cloud my review- i just don't like 3D.

Ok, enough- on to the review. This is the best movie of the series. i really enjoyed the first 3 movies despite all their foibles with the 2nd movie- Mad Max- the best of the three.

Lots of action from the word go. Through out the movie i'm thinking, there's lots of sharp, rusty, pointy things here banging and blowing up. Full throttle action. Then the ladies show up and the true plot comes to be. Upon reflection, there are many subtexts in Fury Road. On the surface, its a car chase- a car chase where something is stolen, and the owner wants it back. But, deeper Its a story of the have's controlling the have nots, the power of women, the very people who created the nuclear holocaust still controlling and trying to maintain that control.

This is an excellent movie. This is one you'll want to own and watch again. i give it a 9.0/10.

This movie is more visually spectacular than Gravity.

The director's vision for an effed up post apocalyptic world is one thing, but the vehicles and the chase scenes could not have been done better. Seriously, his direction and shooting of the chase/battle scenes was perfect.

If someone would have told me there is a huge vehicle that looks like a giant Metallica stage, I would have thought that was stupid. But with the freaky guitar player and the huge war drums, it was just awesome. Ridiculous, but completely awesome.

So this made it to HBO and I saw it, and now I have watched it more than once. it's all the aspects of Road Warrior without the crap that followed. Its even stealing plot elements and scenes from RW. And it's great, cannot think of anything to critique or add, it's actually a good story with fleshed out characters once you get over the initial awe of the special effects and action. All the money in on the screen. It is to be a rare 10 out of 10( i can get swept away with it easily) and I am so glad they did not dredge up Mel to play the lead, totally fine with a new Max, and Tom nails the part with minimal dialogue. Sure it's an action film, then it's a social commentary, and it's a character driven thrill ride that's addictive. Each time i have seen it i pick up a word or two I did not notice before, adding to the plot line, reinforcing what comes next. Each time I see it there is another level of action showing up, fantastic stunts and motor vehicles. Yeah, it's great entertainment and immediate pleasure if you are into that sort of thing, no filler, just 100% action protein.
