I liked the non-linear story telling throughout the movie. Plus the action was top notch (for CGI anyway). I give it an 8/10.

For a superman movie it was a great reboot. Cavill was a very convincing superman. I would give it a 3.5/5 though. First half of the movie kinda dragged. Second half was action packed. Surprisingly no typical Snyder slow mo scenes but scenes looked great. Had the real life feel that Nolan did with Batman which worked well for superman. Shaky camera distracted a bit at times. Overall excited that this movie is doing well so we are one step closer to a justice league movie.

Wife HATED it. I thought the first hour was great but then a huge letdown.

This movie falls prey to what is killing every blockbuster. It drops story for a big uninteresting CGI fest. There is so much fighting going on where no one gets hurt and it goes on FOREVER it is just like one of the HORRIBLE Transformers movies for the last hour.

How many times does Superman or one of the other Krytonians lunge during a fight and drive their opponent through a building only to shake it off and do it again? This happens about 50 times. It becomes uninteresting after about four. The final hour is just punching, slugging and crashing through objects without anything really happening. The battle at the end of the Avengers, which was pretty much the same thing was done better, but now you feel like you have seen the same thing a million times. You could have edited in cuts from the Avengers or and Transformers climactic battle scene and no one would notice. Apparently, smashing buildings is now considered great theater.

The CGI is good, it just it becomes all there is. I could have written this movie in an afternoon. My 10 year old nephew thought it was "awesome" which shows who it is playing to. If you thought it was getting the serious, high brow Nolan-esque treatment, you will be seriously disappointed. Just leave after the first hour if that is what you are looking for and will think it was pretty good.

By the way, the acting is actually pretty good and the cast is well chosen. It just makes it more of a letdown that they are tossed aside for an hour of skyscraper demolition. I was really looking forward to it, but it is almost just a rental. Summer movies are just becoming lazy and terrible.

Going to see it tonight. Always been a Superman comic book and movie fan. This version looks gritty.

Saw it. I liked it including the flashback themes. Henry Cavill did a good job. Gritty cinematography made it look a bit dark. It looked cool. I also like the reality of the situations that he confronted and the all the characters reactions. The dialogue was also more real. The original General Zod was better than this guy. He had more screen presence.

I thought it was really good. I was shocked to see Supes do what he did near the end. Cavil was good, but doesn't compare to Reeve.

Man of Steel sucked big steely balls. I went to watch it opening weekend and it sucked. I wrote an article about the film that details exactly why it is so bad Why Superman Man of Steel Sucks Big Steely Balls

i agree with your comments in the article. Beginning was definitely slow and felt rushed. haha Zod's TV message! i was thinking the same thing. Pretty sure Zod could find a better way to communicate or at least get a clear signal!

anyhow, you should proof read your article. Lois is misspelled each time and you spelled one of Nolan's previous movies wrong.

One thing I was wondering is; why the hell Lois Lane is always around, like following Superman into the ship, and on the military airplane to drop the baby shuttle lol.

I thought the movie was great. I went in with expectations of seeing a Watchmen type spin on the movie and it was. You can only tell the story many times before it gets old and this way was a nice differentiation.
