I give the movie a mixed review. The action scenes were great, classic Mann. There were a few shootouts that were reminiscent of the Heat bank robbery scene. The weakest part of the movie was the Crockett love interest sub plot. I felt way too much time was spent developing this part. I thought Colin Farrell and Gong Li didn't have great chemistry together, and I ended up not caring about that part of the movie at all.

[QUOTE=FoodeesJim,Jul 29 2006, 03:41 PM] [COLOR=blue] I don't know if Ferraris really have blue flames coming out of the exhaust when they run wide open, but it sure does look cool!

yeha, it happens, when you're running short, or even just straight exhaust piping and the engine is being ran very hard, the exhaust heats up and ignites the unburnt fuel in the exhaust, thus, flames.

(This can also happen if running very rich or lean.)
I've seen it on many race cars as well as on a Lamborghini Gallardo in person.
The flames coming out of the F430 were constant blue flames lasting many seconds, not the flashes of orange flame you get on race cars. These flames were pure bling.

Saw it over the weekend and I liked it.

Yes its a huge departure from the TV series. Other than the character's names and Miami, the movie version is little connection to the TV version. However I do think the spirit of the original MV is still there, especially the way the movie was shot, its style and coolness.

The beginning dragged a little bit and I didn't care much for the Sonny/Isabella love connection, but it picked up quickly afterwards.

I felt as though I wasted two hours of my life for a couple of reasons.

#1... I felt like they didn't have enough material. Movie moved SLOW with alot of useless scenes... Like what 4 sex scenes, 3 of which with the same two people...Who cares. Speaking of that, that was a horrible match between Sonny/Isabella.

#2 Was it just me or did it seem like Colin Farrell was having to try really hard to make his voice that deep and in general just annoyed me. Kinda wanted to punch him and tell him to stop trying to sound tough.

#3 Too much love music... Felt like no matter the mood of the movie it was some slow sappy crap playing. I can only think of one song I heard that was half way rock or upbeat at all.

Yay the few action scenes were well done and pretty cool....Ya the F430 was nice and boats etc....But overall

For the most part I just really just wanted to take my girl back to the house and make good use of my time.

Couldn't have said it better. Gong Li just pissed me off....her acting was so damned forced!! For christ's sake, pick an actor/actress that can speak english!! Her accent was so bad, you could tell she was having a very hard time speaking her lines. It annoyed the hell out of me.

Let's put it this way...I prefer listening to Jacki Chan or Jet Li speak english...that's how bad she was.

I thought it was good - good action, nice cinematography, but things seemed a little cramped at times. Definitely some good moments though.

Boooooooooo...

It really wasn't that good. The only thing that appealed to me was their Ferrari F430, speed boats, and the gun fight... lol. Other than that the story line was kind of Ehhh... really really really really SLOOOOWWWWW!!!!
