Ok, I'm making a list of movies to buy, and I'm trying to think of this one I rented a while back, but I cant remember what its called.

Its set in like Tokyo or Hong Kong or something like that, and this french (i think) redhead girl moves there into an apt with like 4 other girls, all of whom work at this one club. At the club they entertain asian businessmen, and the new girl likes to sing karaoke with the men sometimes. she becomes the most popular one and the other girls get jealous, and in one of the scenes she is eating soup and there is glass in it and her mouth starts bleeding and she runs out. there are a few flashbacks to her to her old school where she falls for the DJ of some HS dance or something. a little later one of her flatmates takes her to see this guy that lives under a freeway or something so that he can hold the money she has made. she likes to draw, and the flashbacks start as her drawing on paper. there's this one (in)famous businessman that everyone seems scared of, he's a white guy with afro-esque curley hair, and when he sees her, he says something, adn i think that something is what the title of the movie is. but i cant remember

so if someone could help me figure out what this movie is called, i would be most grateful. sorry the description is all over the place, i started out remembering only a couple details, but as i wrote, i remembered more and more.

edit: also, its somewhat recent, the background music is pretty quiet IIRC, and it was an independant film, and i think it won an award at some festival
