Totally outing myself as a nerd, but if you're into D&D or anything like that, I'd recommend 'Gamers: Dorkness Rising' on Instant. You'll get the jokes in a sort of sad, nerdlike way and as you nod sadly, you'll say 'yeah, I've seen that happen...'

If you're into that kind of thing and haven't already, watch The Guild.

Kept seeing the sequel for Donnie Darko (S. Darko) on the recommended list so decided last night to watch it.....that was a waste of time. Besides the decent looking chicks it was pretty useless....

I <3 Netflix streaming....with as much shit we have in our ques we decided to just cut our cable since we never watch it anyways. Any of the shows we do watch I can Hulu or torrent.

Thanks for the Spartan rec Tuna, watched it last night and thought it was pretty good.

Oh and another one I saw some time ago butat the time thought it was a pretty good sleeper caper movie is Red Rock West.

I know, I know, Nick Cage, but I remember being very pleasantly surprised.

Watched another one to avoid last night...I think it was at 2.5 stars but watched it more for who it starred. Smiley Face. Anna Faris was the main character and it also included John Krasinski from The Office....figured it couldnt have been that bad...

Boy was I wrong lol Anna tried a bit hard to play a stoned out girl and you could see she wasnt very good at faking it....I guess maybe it would have been more hilarious if you were actually stoned and couldnt tell otherwise...Had a couple of snickers throughout...

glad you liked it. It really went under the radar. It took me a few minutes to get used to the dialogue style they used... not quite like any other movie I can think of

It was written and directed by David Mammet, a famous play write who has a very specific pitter-patter dialogue that's unique to him.

Other movies he wrote + directed in this style are:

House of Games
The Spanish Prisoner
Heist
State and Main
Redbelt

All of these are worth a watch, especially Spanish Prisoner and Heist.
Most have to do with con artists and double crosses.
His greatest fault is putting his wife in everything, and she can't act he way out of a wet paper bag. But he uses the same troop of actors in pretty much everything and they're pretty good.

He also ghost-wrote Ronin, for what it's worth.
