I liked it but it was not greatness.
The story was a little busy trying to tie up the original Alien mythology and the "Space Jockey" pilot, and then do this whole origin of life on earth story, and be a monster movie all at the same time. A little much and the whole story became kind of predictable.
What works: evil robot and really goregeous special effects of the ship in flight.
The rest is a decent popcorn movie, but not one that will be a favorite.

It seemed Scott tried to kill too many birds with one stone. But then again, I can see a potential for this movie to be one of the most "talked about movies" for years like Blade Runner. Typical Ridley Scott sci-fi movie...multiple interpretations are possible:
