Default Quarantine

Ok the movie Quarantine is a remake of a spanish horro movie called REC. The movie is done Blair Witch/Cloverfield style with a handheld and NO tripod. Motion sickness people beware.

The premise is some local news magazine show is going to be riding along with a firehouse for the evening and the firehouse gets a medical call at an apartment building. When they show up and the old woman takes a chomp out of a police officer, well you know what you are in for.

It does not really offer anything new, nor is it particularly well acted, and its only 90 minutes.

But if you like this kind of thing, the last half hour is pretty decent. The director sets up a mad 30 minute zombie scramble that has some pretty good intensity and a few disturbing visuals. The lead actress, (the bony faced chick who plays the sister on Dexter) goes into a hysteria that becomes really annoying at first, but became actually more and more reall and kind of feeds the intensity at the end.

I liked it and say its worth a rent if you like a decent zombie movie.

I liked it more than I thought I would. It scared the crap out of my wife a few times.

The movie was ok but what really drove me insane were ALL the frickin sirens throughout the movie! That small apartment building got more emergency response than 9/11!
