I hope that this is as good as the other recent adaptations of Cormac McCarthy's novels.

Loved the book.

But I know some people who worked on the film, and I've been tracking the movie's progress since it was shot.

Prepare to be disappointed.

^Here's hoping. I have read most of McCarthy's novels. I suspect that this film has a bit of morphing of characters. The novel is about the boy and his father. The role of the female lead looks like it's been expanded.

Yeah, and from what I've read about the movie, it's the bleakest thing ever shot.

The highlight of the entire movie is a can of coke.

2+ hours of bleak for 1 can of coke.
Hmmmm...

I thought the end of the book had an uplifting moment, a hope for the boy's future. Read Blood Meridian if you want bleak.

Saw it today. The actor who portrays the Boy was in over his head. Overall, the movie was very good, but I think that people will have very divergent opinions about the film. Don't go if you are expecting to see a Sci-fi flick. Think of it as an art film.
