^It wasn't in too many theatres here in the Orlando area either.

Closest to me is up near DC, about 5 hours. A friend and I half joked about making the drive this past weekend. I'll just wait until it comes out somewhere closer. I just got the book so it looks like I may read it before seeing it.

^The character of the Man's wife is more alluded to in the book as opposed to being a developed character in the movie. I didn't realize that there was such a limited release of the movie.

Saw it today. The actor who portrays the Boy was in over his head. Overall, the movie was very good, but I think that people will have very divergent opinions about the film. Don't go if you are expecting to see a Sci-fi flick. Think of it as an art film.
Ok how does it compare to Children of Men?

That is also a bleak beyond belief film which just seems to be over the head of half the populace but I thought it was brilliant. One of my favorites of all time.

Come to think of it, I never did see "blindness" or whatever that movie was called with Juliane Moore. That was supposed to be a love it or hate it bleak movie too.

Blindness is more than what I would call "bleak" and is borderline tragedy. Only the ending pulls it out of the gutter somewhat.

Blindness is an adaptation of a novel from a Portuguese writer who recently won the Nobel Peace Prize for literature.
