I just saw this, what a good film...not great, but good. the last line said by leo was something in the order of "is it better to live as a good gentle man with no regrets or as a angry and haunted man"...so i think he opted for the ending himself .....

well cast, well written, superb sets, good cgi scenery effects really put you on that island....well directed. from a guy who we know for "made men or good fellows" type stories....i loved the departed.

coulda shaved off 20 min to tighten up the script....very very slow on the build up...8.75 outta 10 with a special salute to scorsese for making his version of a hitchcock film.
