Default "Sideways"

Sideways stars Paul Giamatti of American Splendor. He plays Miles, a recently divorced, failed writer...who takes his friend Jack on a little retreat before he gets married. He decides to take Jack up to California's wine country, to play some golf and relax for a week. Jack has other ideas and the rest...well, you'll have to see the film.

Sideways is a comedy. However, it had so many elements in it. It really is a funny, poignant film about friendship, heartbreak, life, sex, possibility and redemption. What more could you ask for....cars blowing up? Well, I think a car does get wrecked....

The characters looked like real people. The acting was great. Giamatti plays Miles wonderfully and you really feel for the guy and laugh through all the situations he encounters. All the characters added something important to the movie and I hope this movie receives more recognition.

The comedy delivery was refreshing. The funny parts kind of sneak up on you. The movie, like wine (a big theme in this movie), gets better as time moves on.

Go see "Sideways" ...you won't be disappointed.

I give Sideways 4 Stars out of 5!
