The Simpsons Movie
I'm still processing it. . . a few random thoughts:
1. Yes, it's funny. If you're any kind of Simpsons fan, go see it.
2. I realize the one thing I really dig about The Simpsons is when they explore various random characters (Skinner, Krusty, Patty and Selma, Apu episodes, for example). For better or for worse, the plot stuck very close to the family.
3. It played out like a very long episode. Some of you may like it, some of you may not. . . the jury is still out with me on that fact.
4. While it was funny, I'm left wondering whether it was worth pulling Swartzwelder off for 3 years to do this thing. . . and letting the regular show kinda flap in the breeze.
5. Spider Pig. . . Spider Pig. . . the ads are a mere taste. Kudos to the writing team and to Hans Zimmer*.
6. They pushed a few boundaries. It's definitely hard PG going PG-13. You've been mildly warned.
*I had first thought that Alf Clausen had done the score. Sorry.

I enjoyed it... if you are a Simpson's fan then its a no brainer and if you are just someone looking for a good laugh then this is for you
It did play out like it was just a loooooong episode though, have to agree with the OP on that.

did they show a trailer for Dark Knight?
The trailers were Bourne, that Rock movie, and Daddy Day Camp (or whatever that was).
