Default Star Wars Episode 3: Return of the Sith

Sorry to start a new thread but a review would get lost in the shuffle.

Star Wars Episode 3: Return of the Sith

3:30 am just got home from the midnight showing of Episode 3.

I have two overlying thoughts both positive. First, Lucas really hit his target demographic. Second, I feel like this movie did a good job of fleshing the story line out and making episode 2 more understandable for those not into the series.

The visuals were yet another upgrade from the previous film. It's amazing that each film can be such an evolution but they do an impressive job of this on each film. It is still quite apparant that the film is done on a green screen and at times the backgrounds feel slapped on. General Grevious is specifically a very impressive bit of CG magic. His fight with Obi Wan is very tangible and it's very seldom that you realize he is a CG wonder just like Jar Jar.

I don't want to harp on the acting in this or the other StarWars films. It's simply not a highlight and the quality of each characters acting varied hugely from scene to scene in this film. At one point you were completely drawn into a character then a moment later you felt as if you were watching a high schooler read lines from To Kill a Mocking Bird. Still this did not detract from the overall experience.

The fighting was well... Great. So many moments where the audience clapped. So many great twists and turns and stabs. Really sent the heart a flutter. Plus R2D2 kicks arse from scene 1 of this film he is a highlight of pure enjoyment.

Overall a very enjoyable experience in a packed theater of people just as excited as I was. Tonight was a true movie going experience and I will probably return to do it again this weekend.

9.2/10 Worth the price of admission, coke and popcorn.

It was a very enjoyable experience, though I feel like let down I guess in a way not that the movie was bad, but the truth of the matter I guess hurts, from watching Anakin turn into Vader, from my view I thought it was sad, and that He betrayed his wife and when trying to save her he ultimately killed her, pretty sad I think. But R2D2 was awesome in this movie!!!! he totally kicked ass and that was very fun to watch overall the beginning of the movie was pretty damn funny listening to what the droids were saying etc. Just my thoughts.
