Default Up In The Air

So, apparently there are two sets of trailers. . . or something. . . I saw one trailer in the theater, and it looked to me like it was about Clooney's character going through some weird shit. It seemed promising.

. . . then there's the trailer on TV, clearly targeting Clooney fans (read: chicks). I was scared shitless.

I assure you, this movie is more about Clooney's character, and is not quite the chick flick it would seem (from the TV trailer). Make no mistake, it's all about relationships, but it's not flowers, sunshine, and My Little Ponies farting pansies either. . .

I don't want to give away too much about the plot. . . but do not spring this on a chick for a date movie: make sure she really wants to see it.

As far as George-Clooney-rank-order-excellence, it's not Goodnight, and Good Luck, but it's way better than Ocean's Thirteen.

Good, not great. No crime seeing it now, but no crime waiting for disc.

My mother asked me to see it with her last night, and I thought it was going to be way more "lovey-dovey" than it was. I actually thought it was a very good movie.

I was entirely surprised with the ending, never saw that coming....

I thought it was good, but not good enough to generate the best-picture best-actor hype that I read about when I got home from the theater. I think it might have been written by someone who doesn't like women very much.
