It's the future, it's Tokyo. Section 9 is just beginning. I have been a fan of this anime since I happened on it back maybe more than 10 years ago... it's well done as an anime, first a film or two then a series, then specials. The film is true to the original anime movie, the characters are rich... and they changed allot. Some of the scenes that made the original great, the action parts, are reproduced in the film. The story has been changed and the actors are not all Japanese. This is a truly good film, not unlike the first Blade Runner. The story unfolds well and there is plenty of excellent cgi action, gunplay, fights, blood and guts , vehicle action....i give it a 10 outta 10 cause Scarlet Johansen is wonderful in anything she does.

Saw this the other week and enjoyed the GHOST IN THE SHELL, with Scarlett Jo.
I'd say this would be a good movie to get your early tween into the sci fi genre- so basically kid friendly above 13 yrs old. I give it an 8/10.
