Bears on the Dragon
Saturdays roll out went as expected. I stood at the corner at Deals Gap and assisted Ken in getting all the cars through without tourists. As I headed for my car, a couple S owners who could not make it past the washrooms at the Gap, had passengers and we got to talking. Anyway, I had to play catch up and just before the Look out, I got a warning and sure enough, two bears, (troopers) were parked. The car a minute or two behind wearing a Bear cap did not get the same warning and a bear pursuit followed. LOL It turned out okey because the Pig guy straightened things out.
Sunday morning, I left Fontana slighthly before the group so we could have a very slow Dragon run. Yes, I pulled over for a Corolla.
It was a beautiful morning, and we stopped at the look out and got our for a stretch. After walking side to side to look at the view we checked for traffic before walking back to the car and stopped in our tracks when saw the four legged BEAR standing on the road looking at us, only 100 ft away. While I patted my pockets looking for my phone, my wife ran for the car. Since the bear stayed put, I went to the car but by the time I found the phone, the bear dropped into the bush. I know, no pictures. but also no bite marks.
This years critter count included, turtles, snakes, dear and BEAR. No turkeys but they were out when I was down in April.

Didn't see any bears other than the one on the motorcycle after the rollout. Did see a snake get hit by about 4 S2000s on Saturdays drive with Dave. Saw Alvin the chipmunk on one road off Wayah Road on Fridays drive. Turkeys a first on the dragon and then near the boat ramp on 28 one morning headed to Deals for breakfast. Great time
