I've noticed how some Ohio owners have shoved this under the rug as quickly as possible and walked away as if nothing ever happened. Thats wrong.
Acting as if nothing ever happened and not making an example will only doom ourselves to have this happen again, something I believe neigther you nor I nor anyone else wants.

Doesn't matter that he was from Ohio..... its that he was heading to the same place as the rest of us... in the same car as the rest of us....
And like shedrivesit said..... he has screwed up his life royally...
Why do we need to dwell on it?

I feel if this had happened in the Mid-A, we would have had an open flaming session on this guy and his behavior and condemned all his actions.
Actually we flamed the hell out of Creed. The Mid-A guy in the Spa Yellow wrapped around a tree. Mid-A flaming of bad behavior

. Everyone makes a mistake, some just bigger and dumber than others. Everyone who has never made a mistake in their life and feels they can judge this guy go ahead
I have said that I have never recieved a DUI, I have never lost my lisence do to a DUI, I have never driven on a suspended lisence, I have never sped while driving on a suspended lisence, I have never run from the cops when I have been spotted speeding, I have never run from the scene of an accident that I had any level of involvement in, I have never done all of this with a stash of weed in the car.
This is not a mistake, this was a long LONG series of bad decisons. He could have made a different decision anywhere along the way and it would have changed the outcome.

Maybe a rule could be made that you must have a valid (current) drivers license to attend? It might not stop people that are driving without one from coming, but would send the message that we don't want to be on the same road as them.

"a misconception at the time of an offense alleged by a defendant"

My point, is not not hide behind definitions, but may be a little semantic in nature. When someone makes a "mistake" there is a connotation of "accidental" "unintentional" "good natured belief that what they are doing was right at the time."
If I see your car and decide I like it, and I follow you home. Then wait for you to go to sleep, break into your house, break into your car and steal it, was that a mistake? No, it was 100% intentional.
I don't think I am expressing myself very clearly, and I apologize for that.
What I am getting at is that society at large has gotten so politically correct that nothing is every anyone's fault anymore. "He had a rough childhood, and THAT'S why he did what he did." "He didn't MEAN to do what he did." "It was just a mistake." These types of comments (when applied broadly, not specifically to this case) imply a level of justification, or excuse. This is what bothers me.
Hopefully that is a little more clear, but I can't tell anymore.

Who thinks running from the cops is an OK thing to do? What planet do people live on that that believe running from the cops is no problem, hence they have a misconception of the truth?

IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE!
Too many people have the misconception that if they don't "know" its wrong, its somehow ok. It's not!
Too many criminals have the idea that if they don't get caught, its ok. It's not!
Our society, IMHO, confuses judgement with consequinces. This guy is a victim of his own actions. His decisions have consequences - that's not being judgemental. Just because he suffers the results of his actions, doesn't mean we are cruel or unkind in our disdain. It's part of what happens when you make bad choices.
