Normally I do, on the Dragon, it's usually off. You have to remember that I drove a '04 for 5 years so VSA gets in the way at times.

So, I don't have great results to share thus far, but here's the sitrep:

I called and asked for a King bed single room rate, negotiated it down, and then asked about a block of 10-12 rooms for the 11th night leaving on the 12th.

Holiday Inn Express in Bellevue, KY: $129/night for a King suite negotiated pricing down to $119/night group rate. I cited the Comfort Suites rates of $105/$110 normal pricing before AAA discount being much lower than even this group rate, so the Holiday Inn CSR said she'd have this and any nearby hotels call me back tomorrow with a more competitive offer. I don't anticipate much lower than $109/night, if anything. I'm to speak with Mr. Hoque from the location on Monday morning (he's off until then) about this.

Comfort Inn Suites: $105/night King bed facing parking lot or $110/night King bed facing river. I'll speak with Brandon (or Brandy?) tomorrow about the group rate. They offer AAA discounts, as well, so I'm thinking we stay here unless it's a real s***hole. Still, I'll work down the price as much as possible.

Sorry for reporting late, guys. My night shifts make it tough to actually get people on the phone during business hours cuz I'm usually sleeping.

edit: I'm asking for 12 King rooms, currently. Do we need more? Different types of rooms?

Thanks for looking into this Samir

I am thinking that we find out if we can do the group rate at the Holiday Inn... can you find out about two beds instead of King? Also, can you find out if they can give us a code to use online since some of our guests will be travelling from across the border (long distance), or people like me who don't like talking to people on the phone and prefer booking online Thanks again for doing this!
Got 'em down to $99/night at Holiday Inn Express.

How does 8 King rooms and 4 Queen rooms sound? Reserving 12 rooms isn't too many, right? We've got enough out of towners staying over that night after the Mont'y Inn dinner to caravan with us...?

Nice

Are they asking for the exact number of 2xqueen/king rooms? It might be easier to tell them 12 rooms and then we can all book whatever we need

How do we book it up?

The code is forthcoming—just waiting on final confirmation. It will be available online or via phone, as requested. I asked her not to have us lock down the numbers for each type of room yet.

Happy New Year, all.

Mike,
I just registered, but do not own a S2000, I live vicariously through Greg Donegan's car. Anyway, I will be in my Triumph TR8 and will meet you at Newport and be at the Grill again this year....... if I can keep up with you guys,
