Default Classic Hondas on the Dragon

Since last year I’ve been planning to go to this event next month and this trip my dad is flying down to experience the Dragon. He’s been the owner of more Hondas than I can count since his 1980 and 81 Civic hatchbacks. I Learned to drive stick on the 80 hatch and was such a fun car. After attending the DFR last month I thought I’d check to see if anyone here will be attending this event with their S2000 or maybe another Honda. I’m staying at Fontana VR again, give me a yell if you’ll be there too.

I'm thinking about it but haven't really firmed up my plans yet.

Thanks for sharing. I won't be around that week but will keep it on my radar for the next one!

Thanks for posting this! I’ve heard lots about this event and have been meaning to look it up. Now that I have, I think I’d like to be there. Looks super interesting. Need to clear with work, but I should be able to make it… I’d be staying at Fontana too assuming rooms are still available.

Anyone know if there is a group rate for this event at Fontana? That saves a decent amount; would go towards fuel.

As everything is centered around Maryville, I seriously doubt that Fontana would have a group rate for this. I'll ask though and let you know.

Okay, message sent, I should have an answer by mid-day. BTW, it's 1.25 hours from FVR to the meeting place so, if you're going, plan for that.

There is NO group rate at Fontana Village for CHD.

Can't wait to live closer to the area so I can make these events. Wife can't do 10+ hours in the S after her back surgery.

See first message. There is NO group rate at FVR for this. The only rooms available are double Queen rooms and are not in the main lodge.

Yeah man, looking forward to it since LHT put up their videos last year. I found out too late for 2021 and we had something going on anyway. I figure after they had I think over 100 cars there last year that this year is going to be even more
Several videos on it from last year on Youtube and LHT Performance vids about their trip are kind of fun to watch too.

The first day is in Maryville from 9-11 and the second day is Fontana Dam around 11AM. I figured we were going to travel one way or the other and figured I'd rather be closer to the event and also to head home the second day. Stinks that they don't have a rate for the event but CHD organizers state somewhere to stay in Maryville or Bryson City(!). I figure Sat morning we'll wake up, get going up the Dragon and head that way to the event which looks to be hanging in the parking lot for the car show part. I'm looking forward to seeing all the older cars.

I am curious where this parking lot is as I've looked on Google Maps and can't find anything really large enough to handle that many cars. Anyone have an idea?
"THERE IS A LARGE GRAVEL PARKING LOT ALONG US 129/115 AND NEXT TO CHILHOWEE LAKE (LOOK FOD CHD SIGNS).

I'll be arriving at FVR on Oct. 7 around 1430. I'll be leaving on Oct. 9 around 1200 to head for Slade, KY and S2KDays.

CHD will be at 219 County Farm Rd, Maryville, TN 37801. Plug it into your GPS.

Here's a link in PDF form for FVR to 2190 County Rd, Maryville.
