After all the reports of blind double-yellow passing, etc....

Not sure I will be returning. Seriously considering selling my cars.

Too big and too much ego for me. At this moment, of course. We'll see.

He's just messing around again. Like when he said he wasn't coming because his daughter was throwing a fit or like the time he said he wasn't coming because he thought some people didn't want him to come. He's yankin' our chains!

Dave...

There are enough roads down in that area...

Just take a different route...

None of us condone passing on the double yellow... but don't let that stop you from coming....

When someone in our club messes with me on the road, that is one thing. I know how to handle it.

When someone in our group sits square on Karen's bumper on the outbound run (and there are very few turn-offs that way, as you know), scares the P*ss out of her, then comes screaming by, drifting all the way, and out over the double yellow... Well that simply isn't fun anymore. Especially when I have to watch it in my rearview mirror.

The courtesy that used to be paid to us "less skilled" drivers was remarkably absent this past weekend. He did this crap in front of one of the photographers - I forget which of the sites, but I could dig it up if necessary - and identify him no issue with the next photo in the sequence. It was no one from the NC or OKI group, thankfully.

I see no reason to pay good money to put up with that stuff.

And Brian, yes, I do joke around about this stuff sometimes - the so-and-so doesn't want me to come was obvious kidding. The "my daughter having a fit" was all too real - I can play you the tapes sometime - I finally bribed her with horseback riding to be able to come that trip.

Dave, I agree with you 100%. Aggressive driving behind slower drivers is completely unwarranted. I happened to witness several S2000s pass on double yellow on the same run. Not only is it unsafe, it also portrays the club in the wrong light to any bystanders. Having several loud sports cars fly by you on double yellow will only act to infuriate the person being passed. If they happen to call the cops, it will be all too easy for them to find a big noisy group of cars and bring unwanted attention to us. This was the first event I've seen this type of behavior and I think it's partly due to the larger, younger crowd of WTD and the adrenaline and ego that comes with it. It's no excuse though and I'd like nothing better than to see it stop. Sure, being held up can be drag, but it's not worth the risk and potential consequences of passing on a double yellow.

But don't sell the cars! There are still plenty of responsible owners and you know where to find us!

One other thing that irritated me... At the lunch, a driver in our group within my hearing range was overheard commenting: "Did you see that S with the child seat? How stupid is that to bring a kid on the Dragon?"

And with the overly aggressive driving witnessed last weekend, they probably have a point.

My girls love riding the Dragon, but it is not worth putting them in the significant jeopardy that is exascerbated by some aggressive drivers. I learned early in my Dragon trips to leave my ego in the Hotel. I know that there are better and worse drivers than me out there, and adjust accordingly. But some people seemingly are not getting that message, and it puts us all in some danger. I do not want to be on the Dragon when we have a fatality in an S.

And, if you can't drive the Dragon, why go to the Dragon?

So you're selling your cars because of one person at an event of hundreds ?

I think that's silly, I would have found that person and talked to him/her and left it at that

But it's your decision and I respect that
