I don't know, Andy. Might be worth a shot, but I am unsure if or how the organizers could actually enforce anything. The Dragon is a public road, after all. And, as old farts like me are signiicantly outnumbered by the younger crowd, it is probably in their better interest to just have me not participate. As you can see in this thread, only one other member perceives a real problem. I'm pretty well resigned that WTD 7 was my last trip with the group, so the point may simply be moot.

I appreciate the suggestion, tho!

I had so much fun at WTD this year that I am going to try and clear out my schedule for September. I don't think, however, that Nancy will want to make the trip after her little incident on the way home from WTD...but here's hoping. If I make it, I hope that someone puts together a Devil's Triangle run since I didn't make that ride on WTD.

I also just read through this thread, and it's a shame that some individuals exhibited poor behavior and to such an extent that others are spoiled on the idea of attending another meet. Nancy and I did the Friday morning run with the Ohio crowd and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the luncheon together, and on the homeward bound leg of the trip we decided to take our own little side tour. While we were driving, Nancy, who hardly understands my passion for sports cars at all, commented about how nice the people were and how no one drove out of control or aggressively--at least neither she nor I witnessed any such behavior.

In any large group, you need to gravitate around a smaller group of people who are of like mind. I race bicycles and in triathlon so I do my racing on two wheels, not on mountain roads in sports cars. I found quite a few people who had the same philosophy at WTD this year.

Well my last thoughts are I didn't come last year due to the Gov of Tn. deciding to hold Rt129 hostage.

This year we saw one LEO each day which was the way it had been up untill last year

I'm convinced TN129 and NC28 was made for the AP1/AP2 and I will always gravitate back to "our Mecca" at least once a year

99.999% of the people involved are great people and WTD and DBR re-energizes me.

When someone in our group sits square on Karen's bumper on the outbound run (and there are very few turn-offs that way, as you know), scares the P*ss out of her, then comes screaming by, drifting all the way, and out over the double yellow... Well that simply isn't fun anymore. Especially when I have to watch it in my rearview mirror.

The courtesy that used to be paid to us "less skilled" drivers was remarkably absent this past weekend. He did this crap in front of one of the photographers - I forget which of the sites, but I could dig it up if necessary - and identify him no issue with the next photo in the sequence. It was no one from the NC or OKI group, thankfully.

I see no reason to pay good money to put up with that stuff.

And Brian, yes, I do joke around about this stuff sometimes - the so-and-so doesn't want me to come was obvious kidding. The "my daughter having a fit" was all too real - I can play you the tapes sometime - I finally bribed her with horseback riding to be able to come that trip.

Go ahead and find the pictures, and out that asshat.

What is crazy, is that every year there is at least one or two people who do stupid sh*t.....

This is the first year that it is being made out to be the end of the world.

If you don't want to come, don't come! That is your choice.

I also do not think it would be beneficial to crucify people in a public thread for their actions. Go to them in private and talk to them.

Just my two cents worth!

Dave and Lee, you would b e sorely missed if you do not attend, you just need to decide which way you want to go.

^ It ain't the end of the world, Mike. And I've made up my mind, at least as far as WTD/DBR. I agree it does no good to post a pic in this venue; I would have definitely had words with the individual at the event had I known at the time how much it rattled Karen. But that, too, is over and done.

And I've now beat this horse enough.

My cars are for sale, you Dragon regulars know them. Feel free to PM me with any interest.

Well, realizing that I now own 3 cars, none of which have ever been to the Dragon is giving me cause to think about changing my mind.

I also enjoy the friendships we have forged over the years with both my Ohio and NC compatriots. It would be a shame not to see everyone.

And I really can't wait to see what the new Fit will do on the Dragon.

So we shall see.

However, I am still not sure I want to show up with an identical car as Popeye's new ride. No one will be able to tell us apart at 50 yards

Well my boss just advised me that I'm getting an extra paid "personal" day this year. I think that may just "seal the deal" on a Sept. vacation to the DBR.

It will be my first DBR. Now if I can just convince some of my Allegheny buddies to make the trip!
