Well... go register.... even if you can't make it.... Raul will just get some new toys for his car with the registration fee!

ps. By posting this thread, I am not trying to say that I feel Raul is pocketing registration fees or profiting in any way from organizing this event, or any event in the past!

When you get to Fontana there will be a registration desk/tent/??? where you will get a lanyard, name tag, Tshirt, itinerary, etc...

Then if you talk nice to airgate, he might give you one of the secret decoder rings!

Hey, I've been going for years and no one ever told me about the rings

and welcome! Look forward to meeting you!

You will be receiving an email about a week prior to the event with a detailed itinerary, but here's a few things that may help:

Most people arrive Thursday or early Friday and spend those days driving and socializing (see the Hooter's gathering thread for a fun Thursday night option.) Please feel free to look for other S2K's and introduce yourself. No invitations needed!

There will be a message center in the lobby of Fontana when you check in, where people can leave messages or post meet-up times for drives, etc. Check it often! (Cell phones do NOT work in Fontana or on the Dragon!)

We'll have the first "event" gathering Friday night starting at 7:00 PM in the Pavillion in front of the newly renovated WildWood Grille at Fontana, where you will be asked to sign a waiver and will pick up your registration packet containing nametag, lanyard, t-shirts, etc. The cars will all park together in the parking lot in front of the Pavillion.

("Informal" means BYOR; or "bring your own refreshments.") In the past we've had an organized Beer/Wine swap and/or included dinner Friday night, but with the smaller DBR group this year, folks will just bring their own coolers, etc. to the Pavillion and hang out with fellow attendees. Fontana sells beer and wine in the General Store and the Pit Stop, but most folks like to bring something "special" from home. FYI; Graham county is a dry county (no ABC stores).

Dinner's on your own Friday night, but there's a bonfire and general silliness to be had during this gathering.

Hope this helps! See you soon,
Sheila
