Anyone ever hit The King's mansion during a Dragon? Just curious. I know its rather far away.

 

My brother in law is a huge Elvis fan and I believe he's been to Memphis a few times. He has always encouraged me to go...and I'd love to do that one day...but I just haven't gotten past the Dragon. I get on 129 and keep turning around.

 

Its 450 miles.

I think it would be worth the trip to go see Elvis' mansion. Its true Americana. Part of the whole trip, for me anyway, driving down from NY is to see little bits of true America....something that might not be around much longer.

 

You know GPMike, I've been thinking about this post and thinking about how Elvis' Graceland is really awesome looking (from photos I've seen and what I've heard)...but still rather quaint when compared to what modern-day singers, rappers, etc. go out and buy...

If you think about it...Graceland is indeed true Americana. I would love to visit. We should see if folks would be interested and make this part of DBR (DragonBall Run 2009).

 

Graceland WOULD be interesting to see. I'd be even more interested to see visit some of the blues joints in Memphis. Like they said, though, a full day's drive from Fontana.
