Guess what I did today?
Glad that you are having a blast driving those great mountain roads. If you have the time check out Wayah Road

I was with a group of 4 cars total and we drove the Parkway at an average speed of around 60, getting up over 80 a few times on the wide open areas with no traffic in sight.
1. We broke 80 about 3 times total, all of them on straights with a clear view for at least 1/4 mile and zero (I mean zero) traffic
2. Our average of 60 meant that slowing to the posted limit took no time at all if we did encounter traffic, and we always slowed to the limit when another car was approaching
3. We went in early May, and I'm guessing since that's shortly after the portions we drove re-opened after winter, perhaps there weren't as many cars as normal
4. Radar detector (I think it went off once when we saw an actual cop during our entire drive)
5. I've managed to hit age 27 with no tickets because I'm hyper-aware and also do not do stupid crap in general
I realize my original post may have made me sound like a douchebag who drove a 40mph scenic road full of old grandmas and tourists at double the limit for hours on end with absolutely no regard for other human life, but it's quite the opposite. We simply enjoyed a wide open road with a great view and sweeping turns at a speed slightly above the ridiculously low posted limit while having a few brief stints of going into the 70-80mph range when no other drivers were present.
I still maintain, driving the BRP even at the speed limit would probably be more enjoyable to me than the Dragon. Plus, there are way too many tools on the Dragon who like to cross into your lane around a blind corner (at least that was my experience last year).

I have done quite a bit of both, and the BRP wasnt as fun. The fear of getting that speeding ticket was too much for me. There were TONS of places to get up to 80 easily, but I didnt dare. There are also a few places you can get to 80 on the dragon if you dare. The BRP is more about the view, the great drive, and not so much about the fun of driving, in my opinion. The dragon and the areas surrounding just scream "lets go have fun".
