Default Home safe?

get home safe? check in!

we got back around 3pm today, and oh man is the wind blowing! debris all over the road from south of Lexington all the way home, and our whole neighborhood is a mess. Some houses have more singles missing than remaining. From what I can see (which is only half), mine are still in place!

As I sit here typing, I look over at the outside wall of this room and can see it pulsating from the wind. Even my desk is shaking sometimes. Seems like a tornado without the tornado...

Hope this isn't impacting any of our attendees. Drive safe everyone!

Haha...last to leave?? Don't think so...literally just got home about 15 minutes ago.

All safe and sound here.

Ron, Sheila and Jamie kept on truckin' to his place to do the exchange of tires/rims and move a heavy F20C.

I have to go out and mo my 14" of grass now.

Uneventful drive home...still can never believe I used to do a 9 hour drive to the coast when I lived in New Bern/Morehead City. Wowza!!

Hope everyone's drive back home was uneventful and fun (as fun as interstate driving can ever be...).

Had a BLAST!! Thanks for making it memorable!

Oh...and Andy...sorry to hear of all that wind...be safe!!

Well OK, Raul, technically I meant last attendee, not last event organizer - I know you guys hang around late - but man - the OKI crowd was up and GONE by the time we got to breakfast at 8:30, except for Andy, who left minutes before we did. Never seen them move THAT fast on a Sunday morning! Hope Ike left them all alone on the way home, and they all arrive home to find things safe and sound.

well our wind has passed (go ahead with the puns!). When I looked at the weather report during its worst, the wind report said "winds from SSW at 41mph gusting to 70mph!!!" yowza! something like 400,000 ppl without power around the cincinnati area. luckily I'm not one of them

Mike, Denny... you all have pa'ar?

So last you guys heard from me was "See you in the morning for breakfast!".... I was wrong.

I got back to the room and was welcomed by a very angry and inappropriate note from the +1 who was sleeping soundly btw. I wont bore you with the BS that filled said note, but at 2 AM I started packing my stuff, LOUDLY. She said "what the hell are you doing?", to which I replied, "Get your @#$% and get in the #$%@ing car."

After a pissed off drive through the Dragon at 2 AM she decided to speak up and had the nerve to ask why I was so pissed... this turned into an 3 hour explosive argument. She fell asleep shortly after. We made it back to Louisiana around 11 AM.

More details will be furnished upon request.

Sheila and I made it home last night after stopping by Jamie's to make some more wheel swaps.

Then Jamie came over to our house and we improvised an engine lift to get Sheila's old F20C out of his truck. Those things sure do look bigger out of the car.

Thanks to James for the BigRide and great conversation to the Dragon. Thanks to Bryon for the roadside assistance when the Dragon bit Sheila's new wheel. Hope he's full now. Thanks to everyone who helped us out one way or the other this weekend and thanks to everyone who showed up to make this a great event.

Now I'd better see what's been going on in the real world while we've been gone.
