HQ Hotel Info !!!
This is just another quick update.
I have the contract in hand but want to get some feedback from everyone before I pull the trigger.
We have a few options.
1. $89.00 per night Club level / Executive King (6th floor keyed access to the floor) Cont. breakfast and Horsdoevers in the hospitality suite each evening. We'd all be on this floor and have access to the Hosp. suite.
2. $79.00 per night King double occupancy. We'd be scattered about the 5 floors. no Hosp. suite/breakfast/horsdoevers.
I've done my best along with some help from JROSEN to negotiate a good rate but they are pretty firm with their pricing......It's Hilton
.........Quite a bit higher than this past Sept. but I guess you get what you pay for.
As you know I've toured the Alcoa area and none of the other Hotels have the facilities to accomadate us. They would be cheaper but we'd need to sacrifice the Sat. dinner and the Vendor Expo. Parking will be an issue to.
If these rates are not acceptable we can always move it back to Knoxville. Rates would be in the 60's. We'll be a few more miles from the Dragon but have more restaurants more parking etc. We'd more than likely use the Wyndham again. That way I can reuse the old maps!
It's now changed hands and is a Club House Inn.
My vote is to keep it in Alcoa at the Hilton but that's easy for me to say since I'm not spending my money on a Hotel room I live here!!
Let me know what you all think.
Thanks

My only comment is that if I log on the internet site right now I can get a rate of $79.00 a night for a room which includes a full american breakfast. If they are giving you a rate of $79.00 a night WITHOUT breakfast - then they are actually giving us LESS of a deal than someone who is not a member of the group...
Look - we all know that really the money is no biggie -- we are not driving econo cars ya know...
I think the convenience of being closer to the the Dragon outweighs the money.
I guess though, that it would be nice to know the rationale for the hotel charging us MORE and giving us LESS than someone just logging on their internet site and making a reservation ?? And they want a contract for this ??
Bottom line - I say go with the $89.00 a night rooms (that is the deal - right ?? I noticed it said double occupancy - but it is still $89.00 a night per ROOM yes - even with only one person in a room??) - get the hospitality suite - then arrange to have a s__t load of food and beverages available in the hospitality suites so that we can basically eat/drink/veg there if we want.
Does their contract allow for us to bring food and beverages into the hospitality suite ?? Would the hospitality suite be for the use of everyone attending the event - OR would the plan be for someone to sleep there??
Thanks for all your work.

Update to my last post -- I guess that the $79.00 rate including breakfast for that hotel must be sold out -- it is now $79.00 w.o. breakfast on their website -- anyway -- I am sure we can eat $10.00 each of food a day -- and the privacy of a keyed off level sounds nice ( I guess ??) - so go for the $89.00 ...
