Ok all you Dragon peeps. It's time to get the I40 CONVOY planned. Post comments and I'll update the itinerary accordingly.
0800 Leave Wilmington (meet in the Best Buy parking lot, College Rd.)

That's a roger, dodger. There's nothing magic about being there at 4:30. He'll be "registering" until the weeeeeee hours of the morning. 
The really BIG thing we don't want to miss is CHOW CALL that evening!!

I should be able to join this caravan. If I try to do a 1/2 day at work in Mt. Airy, I will meet up at Statesville or if I leave from Winston-Salem I could pick you guy's up at the Rest Area just across the Yadkin River in Davie County (about 10 miles west of Clemmons).
I presume you are allowing about 1 hour plus for lunch in Statesville or somewhere?
