How close can you come to producuing Rogue's Brutal Bitter? Many folks brought PBR, Old Milwater, Butwiper, etc..... But, this event needs to tackle and educate S2k'ers to the same realm of ecstacy that our cars bring us, not the tradional carry-outs.

*If you are really gifted, lets go go for a Double Chocolate Stout and really show NC what dessert is all about!!

If I remember correctly, the only PBR that graces the WTD swap was brought by Willie Gee (which I can only assume was a joke coming from him ).The case was cooled to the optimum drinking temperature of 86.5* and it sat on the middle table untouched for the rest of the night.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of the last two swaps. While there were key contributors, even those who brought very little seemed to do well finding something rare and unique, even if just regionally available.

Some of the more memorable brews from WTD 08 (aside from my generous Abita contribution ) were the Sweetwater, Lazy Magnolia, and of course, who could forget that tasty home brew hefeweizen! Sorry that I'm leaving a lot of you out, but I don't really remember much from that night

DBR 08, while much smaller, was also quite memorable (I must have not consumed as much!). A great cream ale home brew, and my favorite, the Belgian Lambic.

Scott, I found a recipe that woul probably very closely resemble brutal bitter. But at about 60 IBU, it'll probably be a bit too bitter an hoppy for the casual drinker. Several people have already mentioned a preference for malty over hoppy. Don't worry though, whatever I bring, it won't be anything close to BMC.

As for the double chocolate stout, now that's an idea! I have a really good dry stout I've modelled after Murphy's. I could use that as a base recipe for a chocolate stout. Young's DCS is one of my faves!

I brewed up a Brown Ale today from a recipe straight out of my imagination. This weekend I'll brew a well-known Brown Ale recipe. Once they're both fermented out and conditioned I'll choose the better and bring it to WTD09.

This is sounding great! Most folks brought regional micro-brews or home-brews, so everyone had the chance to sample something they don't usually drink. Ideally, you would use the tasting cups to sample, and then just swap bottle for bottle, but there are not hard and fast rules.

I also wanted to remind everyone that it's a great opportunity for us wino-o's, to bring some favorite vinos for tasting / swapping. It's a combo brew swap/wine tasting. Woohoo!

I can't remember if you had said earlier.....will this Dragon Brew be in bottles or, do you bring it in Tap form? Either way is fine, just curious. I will be bringing some kind of official tasting container device.
