Gtec is a waste of money IMHO.
Opinions are like assholes.

Have you ever used one? They are very fun to play with and shockingly consistent. I love mine.

Must have been a defective unit or just user error. It took me about a half hour to really get comfortable with using it and figuring out the best way to set it up. Once I got it all figured out, it was great. I can move it between cars in less than a minute.

i'd rather have the 4.57 gears since they are stronger and purpose built for the S2k. (4.77 gears are mazda gears)

however, i also noticed there was some question as to the validity of the cryo treatment that was done to those 4.77 gears too.

For what I was looking for (0-60, 60-0, G's), this is well worth the whole $35. :-)

I had to calibrate the RPMs of the car to the G-Tech. This was a bit tricky. Once I got it calibrated, it works amazingly well. It seems to track the RPMs almost exactly. I found that it tracks RPMs best if the fan is on or the headlights are on.

On a cold day with my girlfriend in the car and not the best traction, I got 0-60 in 6.50 seconds from a stoplight. I spun the hell out of the wheels when I shifted to second. On my horsepower runs I consistently get 185hp readings. Keep in mind, the horsepower readings will be a bit low because it does not take aerodynamic drag into consideration. If you go to the G-Tech forums, there is a very simple mathematical formula to calculate true horsepower.

I will take it out to the drag strip this spring and test it against the timing lights to see how accurate it really is. But, from the runs that I have completed, i would have to guess that it is amazingly accurate as well as consistent.
