Depends on the scene you want, but I prefer Hofbrauhaus. Primarily a beer drinker's paradise but they have great food & a full bar as well. It is a genuine offshoot of the original one in Germany. They brew their own beer here in Cincy, same recipies brewed in Germany. Usually a German band playing on weekend evenings.

There's a few different bars in Newport on the Levee, but I can't remember the names of the various ones. If you walk around inside (it's basically a mall, 75% indoors with some stuff outside as well) you can check out the various bars to see if they suit you.

Alternatively, only a couple miles away (2 at most) is Mainstrasse which has a variety of cool German, Irish, and/or English pubs.

Dinner is a bit out of the way, but I may be up for some pre-partying at the Levee with some of you Wednesday night.

Funny you'd mention the Hofbrauhaus because we found that online and figured that would be where we would start..

I'm sure we will be around there after dinner on Wednesday so I will definitely let you know..
