Mike, ask the doctor if he will recommend doing cryogenic treatments like Mark Webber did when he broke his leg in the off season of F1. The treatment involves stepping into a cold chamber , 211F! But only or short periods of time.

If it were still winter up there all you would need to do is step outside .
