Thanks for the input!Watch New York Auto (March 2009) this will show whether the S2000 and/or S3000 is dead or alive.
What changes between now and March?

And even if it was still alive, I believe that the end result would be somewhere south of disappointing.
Why is this in the Dragon Events forum?

-btween parkerdt's comment of "..... doesn't post much on other than the Dragon forum, and I am sure he's interested in the opinions of those of us who frequent that beloved stretch of road".
And airgate's comment of " S2000 - Roadster .... No Soft top = Unrealistic I quess I'll stay with the S2000.
Yes, I value the opions of true enthustists.
Hate to think of no New S2000s.
Anyways, see you at the DBR or on the Dragon with an Ultra.
Have to get to the mountains to run and run that beloved stretch of road on either.
See you all at "WTD"
PS: Where is the spell check? Doesn't work from this end!

Phil,
If not having a soft top is not an issue for you, then by all means get the CR. I know about 4 folks who own them, and they all like them, and only 1 wishes he also had a ragtop.
For performance on the Dragon, there's supposedly not much difference since the CR is really aimed at the track and higher speeds. You do get the bigger tires, and stiffer body/suspension and that should be worth something.
However, the regular S does fine on the Dragon, as well, as you know.
What is it that you feel you are missing in the S on the Dragon with your current car?

Thanks for the inputs!!!!!
I have not gotten the CR as I have debated with myself about not having the ability to put up or take down the top (convertible) on the go!!!
I'm really hoping this is not the last year of the S2000 in any form as what a car we have.
As to what I'm missing on The Dragon with my current S - really nothing. It's just that I have never kept a car this old and wanted input on the CR.
The S by itself is one h---- of a vehicle and I have had much enjoyment with it, just looking at future, but with economic down turn there might not be a 2010 S2000 or even a S3000.
Watch out for the NY Auto Show (Mar 09) - that should indicate whether they'll be a S2000 or S30000.
We have got to keep

AIRGATE & PARKERDT
Guys,
Thanks for your input on the CR. I originally held back getting the CR as no convertible top, which is reinforced by AIRGATE's response.
And I finally realised I don't need a track car so the CR has gone away, unless I come across a real good deal which I don't see happening, as now it's official - No S2000 beyong current model year.
I'll see you guys at WTD7
Phil
Phil,
I'll bet you are going to be able to find great deals on '09 S2Ks in about August. What you won't have is much color choice, but I am sure they will blow them out. Look forward to seeing you at Fontana!
