Perhaps we need to eliminate them from the picture, a couple of times...and see if they really want our business....Maybe the other clubs, will see the same picture that they are painting for us ???

Where do other clubs stay in the area?

^^ I'll second that.

What about a pig roast on Friday night? I've always thought those were fun and its usually budget friendly.
Fontana's prices for a pulled pork BBQ is >$17.00 per person, which is pretty pricey for our Friday night.
Wow, $17 - I guess that's mountain inflation for ya... I know a place around here that serves a big pulled pork sandwich for $6 with unlimited hushpuppies... I think I know where I'm heading for lunch now...

Smithfield Chicken and BBQ - Membane I-40 Exit 153 ... Had one of their Pork BBQ sandwiches, hushpuppies and of course sweet tea ... $6 plus tax ...... yum.. yum

Only good thing about Fontana is the room rates we have had.......

Breakfast/dinner is too expensive to eat there......

Oh yeah..... free coffee in the morning!

My laural cabin was disgusting. It had old chips and pretzels in the drawers and was totally infested with bugs in the kitchen. There was dust and dirt on everything. The stove didn't work either. I had to pull it out and plug it in. I think that should be on their checklist. The night clerk was unhelpful as well.I will NOT be staying at fontana again.

I vote for the Jameson Inn in Alcoa;at least all the cars were in one place and you could hang out easily with other owners.Plenty of local eateries within walking distance.Gasoline was much cheaper in Alcoa.
Saturday Monster Roll out from there was really cool.
We'd lose the Friday night cookout but save that money
Saturday banquet would have to off-site so that would be a down side that would need to be worked out

I'm old and senile, and have probably forgot most things, but I kinda remember that most of the older events staged out of Alcoa/Marysville.......

Yes, we are very limited in our food options for 200+ people in the area, but there are some other lunch options that we will look into. We'll do some polls on registration package options prior to the next event. The only thing we WON'T try again is a totally "a la carte" registration package. Been there, done that, and it was a logistical nightmare!

Raul and I gave Fontana some very specific feedback on the food that we hope they will take to heart.
As another possible lunch option, I saw a mobile BBQ Trailer at the Harley Davidson store, maybe they could set up at Fontana and serve food to the crowd. If he can't handle such a large crowd maybe we could get a couple food trucks out to the dam which would give people a chioce of what to eat for lunch.
