WtD 2024 - Car Prep - What's Yours?
As we get ready to descend on Fontana Village for 3 days of fun on the best and twistiest roads in North America, How are you preparing your car to make your trip to Your Happy Place the best it can be?
For me...
Confirmed my reservation at Fontana Village (room 108 as always)
Replaced a slightly bent wheel
Check tread depth - 2023 tires are at ~30% used on all 4 tires
Brakes - pads and calipers replaced for S2KDays 2023
Replace broken side marker light
Oil change
Extra 2-3 extra qts. of oil (cylinder 2 is still at 60 psi low - using 1qt/1500 miles - plan is to pull it this Winter and replace the piston)
Coordinated to get new tape for the tear in the top (@Pinky will be replacing it in June)
Wash the car!
GasBuddy app for the best prices for Premium gas
Downloaded the region in Google Maps, so Maps will work with out cell service
Downloaded my drive from S2KI, it I can reference it offline
Extra cash for the cookout, magnet and snacks on the drive
What about you?

Replace all 4 tires
Replace fluids (OIL, Transmission, Differential)
Checked brakes slightly over 50% gone. Packing extra pads JUST IN CASE!
Checked bushings/ boots, suspension etc. for leaks cracks.
Double checking torque on spark plugs. Not double checking valves but will pack tools to be able to do it.
Checking crank walk
Swap out driver & passenger seats(black vs. red) so I can fix and dye red seats.
re-check virtually every bolt in suspension area & under car to assure they are all tight.
pack extra oil as I usually burn up 1/2 to 1 qt over the weekend.
Make list of things to pack and bring along with hopes to not need them & try to tell myself to NOT bring some things.
