As for drawing attention from the police. Dont break any laws, and you will have no problems. I bet we could even set-up a police escort thru town, to get the large group of cars past the lights in one group.

However, we parked at the Hilton a couple years ago and I felt fine leaving my car there.
Me too. Never worried once. Well, except for that freak hail storm that hit that one night!

I'm not a fan of Fontana either but i think you guys have to consider that our cars are somewhat safe there! Having a heavily moded car (as alot of the members on this board), i wouldn't trust leaving my car in Alcoa. I'm not from the area (Alcoa) but chime in on whether or not you guys think there would be problems .
Also you have to consider that if we drove from Alcoa to the Dragon over the Three or Four day stay, we would be VERY vulnerable to local Police ( I'm sure we would help them meet their ticket quota).
We've stayed in Alcoa many times with no problems. I think the hotel (Jameson Inn) arranged for an Alcoa PD officer to keep an eye on the area one of the times (the infamous dog incident).

The group drive wasn't typically a problem, but it could be if the leader(s) didn't keep the speeds down.

I still favor Fontana overall, but I hope the service and room quality at DBR is better.

It's been done, when we stayed in Knoxville (WTD '04). The police blocked off traffic at two points so we could get onto Pellisippee parkway as a group.

As far as the cabins go. I will not be keeping quiet next time out there. I will expect more, or expect compensation.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! We'll be compiling a summary to review with Fontana staff, as well as pointing them directly to this thread for the more "candid" comments.
