I really don't give a fat rat where we stay as long as I can meet with all my friends and drive my S.

I go there to meet/see my friends and make new ones, the dragon is just a perk

Like Mikey said "you can drive it anytime of the year" (I'm actually thinking about going next month)

Also we really need to stop bickering about this.. We already lost some people (old faces and new) because of this last year and I don't want to see this event gone because of it. Yes.. it is about the dragon and the other roads there, but at the same time its about the people...

I'm done

All of the extras will be at the Hilton... meet and greet in the parking lot... hopefully the bourbon swap..... banquet.....

I was one of the people who caused some of the stink last year regarding "the other place"....... but I have no problems going back to the Hilton....

Its nice having everything and everyone in one area, and not spread out so much.

Thats my two cents worth.... take it or leave it... I really don't care!

and i think that's the first time in 10 years I've actually agreed with Mike

Hilton is nice..we've stayed there before... and we've made some friends there... lifelong friends... like romance writers

PS..i still say we go back to nantahala.... the only place i've ever been where i can be at 3000 ft above denny and still hear him laughing

I'm shaking my head at the fact some of you simply think the proximity of the Dragon is what this is all about. Guess what, you can go after the Dragon anytime you want. Building an event for 12+ years tells me we are ready to try something new. Posting here in a renegade fashion that you'll be staying at Fontana no matter what shows you have little respect for the event as a whole.

I ask that you take a step back and look at the whole picture... I'm done discussing WTDXI 2013. My focus is on DBRXII and that event is gonna ROCK.
First of all....nobody around here is getting "worked up" except for you.

Second. I have spoke with at least 5-6 other members here who have expressed that there are certain things about fontana that are more appealing over alcoa. The proximity to the dragon is FAR from the only reason. People each have different reasons for feeling a certain way. Far be it for me to make any determinations for any other human as I can only speak for myself. We all have the utmost respect for the WTD event and it's counterpart DBR event.

But at the same rate, we are grown men who make our own decisions. If you find that to be disrespectful, then it seems that you have some feelings about it that are your own and not necessarily shared by everyone else. It's a free world and it's all about having a great time at the event. If some people decide to stay at different locations, that shouldn't be a problem in yours or anyone's eyes. As long as everyone is there for the same reason, where a man lays his head at night is irrelevant.
