How are the cops typically during the event. I want to come, but only if I can drive all out. And I definitely can't afford another ticket.
but if you do, I will be the first to notify our friendly THP!
Thank you.

Thanks for the interest and question. Many people come down to the Dragon and are sorely disappointed to find the speed limit 30 MPH and the road well-patrolled.
As others have said, this is NOT a place to run 10/10ths - the road is way too twisty and dangerous for stuff like that, especially until you've driven it many times.
If you do go, please don't expect our groupt to be sympathetic to all out driving; as others have said, it is the reputation of the entire S2000 community on the line at these events.
If you go at another time, you'll find very early morning and early evening hours the least congested.
Stay safe!
Dave

I did not mean I was going try and lap everyone on the Dragon, and honestly, I haven't gotten a ticket in over 5 years. But on the other hand, I do not want to drive over a thousand miles to go 20 mph on some road, no matter how famous it may be. I can do that where I live. I have been to other group drives and we did have the opportunity to open it up a little bit. Maybe I should have stated it a little different to shield me from the flaming.

Thanks Dave for the nice and simple answer. I am saddened to see everyone jump all over me for asking an honest question. With all the hate from this group, maybe this is not the event for me.

Come down with the UMW Group...https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=756186
I believe, "Caravan" 2....
They will be hooking up with us...@ Hooter's Newport Kentucky, for a huge caravan down to the Dragon....You are more than welcome to join us !!!
There are many of us, self included, that take much offense with peeps wanting to tell us how fast they drive, street racing etc..... We really don't care to hear it !!!
You will...I promise, have the time of your life, with us...on the Dragon, and many, many...other roads down there...You will not be dissappointed.....
^^^The Dragon is not a race track; however, it is a fun public road. You will have a good time, this is a good group, there's more down there than just that one stretch of road, and there's more going on than just driving as you will see from some of the other threads that get posted. I don't think anyone was trying to "hate"; rather, just caution you to be safe -- those are different things.

We all love to have fun, enjoy our cars and the twisty roads......
Besides the Dragon, there are a ton of other roads in the area.... at past events, I have lead groups on our Rt 28 run, or last time over the Cherohala Skyway. Those behind me would agree that we ran the Skyway at a reasonably fast (but safe) pace!
