Default Radar detectors

I want to buy a radar detector but not sure which type. Does anyone know what systems the authorities use in Portugal and Spain?

Also where can I get one in Portugal?

Any help or informtion greatly appreciated.

the best you can get is generally regarded as the valentine 1- or the escort passport. I dont have any idea where to purchase in portugal, but the internet is normally the best place to get good discounted prices. Both of those detectors should protect very well against anything in use in europe- although it is worth double checking if the cops are using any super high-tech wiffle-sticks in europe not used in the states.

Also Ive gotten some really good deals on Ebay for used detectors - just gotta make sure they ship to europe.

-good luck

nigels,

Please pay attention to the fact that the new legislation is very rigorous for the radar detectors.

The cops have new equipment that sinalizes the aproach of a radar detector and, if it's the case, they simply stop you and the new legislation allows them to keep you car with all the documents concerning the car.

Then you must pay a lot of money and, still i'm not sure, maybe you will have problems with your drive license.

Pay attention for this fact because the new legislation starts on the 26th March and the police is looking forward as they will "catch" a lot of drivers to gain a lot of money.

As you drive in Portugal, just imagine the drivers that speeds a lot + the drivers that use the mobile + radar detectors + .............

So, my opinion is.......FORGET the radar detector just for your "safety"
