Default 7/5 PRM/Rocket Launcher Install

Just wanted to post a couple quick pics.
7/3 - Finally got my drilled/slotted rotors, pads, lines, and fluid put on
7/5 - Had Sang, Brad, Chiung, Victor, and Bryan over to install my PRM CAI and Sang's infamous "rocket launchers/elephant nose"

First, thanks to all of these guys for showing up at the house. It was hot as heck but fun all the same. Second, what a freakin' difference in the car!!! Awesome.

Nice install, but I believe it is not a good idea to run your air ducting all the way into the filter housing. By doing that you eliminate the venturi effect of increasing air speed. That's what the velocity stack is for.

I doubt that there is a shortage of cool air in that location at speed. There is a large space for air to go around the radiator on that side. I believe the comptech airbox uses the same location to draw fresh air in.

I don't know if you want to do this, but I and other board members have wrapped the aluminum piping with Cool Tape or some other kind of thermal wrap. The bogging that I got while waiting at a light or at a stop sign, was incredibly horrible!!! After you get home pop the hood, and feel the pipe, it'll be incredibly hot...and then wait a few hours and feel it again, it'll still be very hot to the touch. After I wrapped up the pipe, the bog went completely away. Adjusting the throttle cable is also a fun, cheap mod...have fun with your knew setup...and nice rims btw..

We jokingly call the rings/holes in the air ducs up front "rocket launchers" or "the elephant hose." The former is obvious but the later is because of the hose that is run from the ring up to the engine bay.

I'll check out the heat situation. It's only been on since Saturday but I'm extremely happy so far and haven't noticed any "bogging." I will check into shortening the hose though to allow other air flow to enter. Actually, the guy that created the set up has a Comptech. You can see his system on our "under construction" site...firstcoasts2k.com. Remember, it's under construction but go to "photos" and you can see more pics.

I absolutely agree. What are you suggestions for a daily driver and medium budget?
